Built on proven practice principles

Five minutes of speech practiceyour child asks to do.

You choose the sound your child is working on. SoundSprout turns it into a short story mission — ten target words, one narrated world, done before the kettle boils. Our approach

Built around proven practice principles

SoundSprout is designed around the practice principles speech professionals rely on: short sessions, clear modeling, repetition and encouragement for effort.

Model, repeat, celebrate

Every word is spoken clearly first, your child tries it two or three times, and the scene responds. Modeling and repetition are the building blocks of articulation practice.

Designed for how kids learn

Short, story-driven sessions match young attention spans. Familiar characters, a predictable routine and immediate celebration help the habit stick.

Five minutes, every day

Little and often beats long and rare. A quick daily ritual builds confidence without screen-time guilt.

SoundSprout supports practice at home. It does not listen for or score pronunciation, it does not diagnose speech difficulties, and it does not replace a licensed speech-language pathologist. Read our approach →

Built for practice at home — with or without weekly therapy

Some families use SoundSprout between SLP appointments. Others use it because weekly therapy is expensive, insurance is limited, they're waiting for services, or they simply want more structured practice at home. Either way, SoundSprout gives parents an affordable, consistent five-minute routine built around proven practice principles.

Working with an SLP?

Choose the sound your SLP recommended, practice between sessions, and bring the printable home-practice summary to appointments. It shows days practiced, sessions completed and target words practiced — home-practice activity, not an assessment.

Practicing at home?

Choose a sound using plain-language examples and give your child consistent guided practice without the cost of another weekly appointment. If you're concerned about your child's speech or unsure what to target, a licensed SLP can help identify the right sound.

How daily home practice works

How a session works

Sit down, tap once, done in five minutes

The same predictable routine every day, so there's no negotiating and no setup on your end.

01

You pick the sound

Choose the sound your child is working on — R, S, L, TH, SH and more — with everyday example words to help you decide.

02

They pick their friend

Each child chooses a woodland character that guides them through every session and shows up on their home screen.

03

Ten narrated words

A warm voice models each target word, your child tries it a few times, and the scene wakes up a little more with every one.

04

Streak, then certificate

Finishing adds a day to their streak and unlocks a printable certificate you can hang on the fridge.

For parents

You stay in charge of the account

One parent login covers up to five children, each with their own practice sound, profile, streak and history. There's nothing for your child to sign up for and nothing for them to buy.

Set up your family
  • Up to five child profiles on one account
  • A different practice sound for each child
  • Streaks, practice days and completed-day history
  • Download and print any certificate
  • No ads, no in-app purchases, no chat
  • The microphone is never recorded or uploaded

Privacy note

When your child taps the microphone, SoundSprout only watches the loudness of their voice in the browser so the character can react while they speak. Nothing is recorded, saved, uploaded or analyzed, and no audio ever leaves the device. We store only what the account needs: your email, your children's first names and chosen character, and which days they finished.

The sound map

Twelve sounds, twelve worlds — you pick the one

Each practice sound has its own world, artwork and guide. Your child stays in their world until you choose a different sound, and each calendar day brings a new ten-word session inside it.
